When you are making a home electrical and lighting plan, don’t forget your bedroom. If you want to make your bedroom lighting options more convenient but don’t want a lighting system driven by your tablet or phone, a good option is to install a switch beside your bed that controls all the bedroom lighting.
You can put the switch on one or both sides of the bed and use it for all your lights, including overhead and table lamps. This is great for those hard to reach lamps that you don’t want to get out of bed to turn on or off. You should consider putting more than one switch on the plate, especially if you have an overhead light you don’t want on all the time. Make sure to install switches next to the door to control the lighting as you enter and leave the room.
