Maintaining the windows in your house is an important part of upkeep. This is especially true during the summer when rainstorms are common. Window frames should be periodically cleaned to clear away clogged debris, keeping your windows beautiful and your home free from water intrusion.
Weep holes exist on the bottom of window frames for the purpose of water drainage. On occasion they can collect debris, but this is easily remedied. Check for clogs by using an outdoor hose to spray the window or pouring a glass of water on the window track. If the water doesn’t escape the weep holes, there’s a clog. The solution is as simple as using a wire hanger to sweep out the clog or using compressed air to blow it out.
